I use this style of glove for fishing jerkbaits in the spring and fall, because I need to be able to feel bites, yet want to keep my hands somewhat protected and warm so they are functional. I’ve owned several pairs of gloves with this style with the three open fingers, as it is my preferred fingerless glove style, and here are a few key points.The finger seams look to be pretty well reinforced on these, which is good, because that seems to be a common fail point for gloves of this style. I ordinarily get a large and this large is snug, but fits. I’m confident it will stretch to perfect with use. With this style of glove, it’s better to have a little snug than too loose. But I would say these gloves run a little on the snug side if you are somebody with in-between size hands and don’t know which way to go. These gloves feel like they have some pretty good substance to them and will offer some warmth, but mainly protection from the cold wind. The grip on the palm is very grippy giving you a good grip on oars, paddles, nets or fishing rod handles.There was a single loose thread hanging out from the finger, which I cut and there was a little piece of fabric from the manufacturing process that fell out of one that did not seem to be part of the glove. I’m not going to ding for these things because the gloves look like they will be good, but there’s simply no way to tell for sure without using them hard and seeing how they stand up in the wash. If they fail to live up to the 5 stars, I will come back and knock it down.
